Materials used for Romillopens® fountain pens are: Bronze for the internal mechanism, since they better resist the mechanical stress. Then, we apply a 24 kt golden cover for every pieces. This makes the pen life even longer, as it protects the pieces against ink attack.
Light metals have been used for some of our models. Specially, for the V point, making the pen extremely handy. 18 kt gold, besides ebonite, are materials choosen for the outside parts of our pens.
Every pieces integrating Romillopens are turned and adjusted by hand, each piece at a time, each fountain pen at a time. That makes each pen unique, and adjustments made for that unique pen impossible to repeat.
Romillopens nibs are always 18 kt solid gold. Nibs EF, F, M, B and Stub are always available. But we also customize the nib until ink flow quantity and angle of inclination, for every user is also unique.
Each fountain pen coming out of our workshop is tested during several days, to make sure the satisfaction of the new owner. Once it is approved, barrel is number, with an unique number, that also appears in the certificate issued for every finished fountain pen.
